Tooth Extraction

About Tooth Extraction

Safe and comfortable removal of damaged or problematic teeth.

Key Benefits

  • Eliminates pain from severely damaged or infected teeth
  • Prevents the spread of infection to surrounding teeth and gums
  • Creates space for orthodontic treatment when needed
  • Removes wisdom teeth that are causing problems
  • Prepares the mouth for dentures or implants when required
  • Performed with maximum comfort using effective anesthesia

Treatment Process

Examination and Planning

Your dentist will examine your tooth and take X-rays to assess its condition and determine the best approach for extraction.

Anesthesia Administration

Local anesthesia is administered to numb the area. For complex extractions or anxious patients, sedation options are available.

Tooth Removal

Using specialized instruments, your dentist will gently loosen the tooth and remove it with minimal trauma to surrounding tissues.

Wound Care

After extraction, the socket may be cleaned and stitched if necessary. A gauze pad is placed to control bleeding and aid clot formation.

Post-Extraction Instructions

Your dentist will provide detailed aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing and minimize discomfort.

Aftercare

After your extraction, bite firmly on the gauze pad for about 30-60 minutes to help stop bleeding. Avoid rinsing, spitting, drinking through straws, smoking, or drinking alcohol for 24 hours. Apply ice packs to reduce swelling, and take prescribed pain medication as directed. Eat soft foods and gradually return to your normal diet as healing progresses. Maintain good oral hygiene but avoid brushing the extraction site directly for the first day. Contact us if you experience severe pain, excessive bleeding, or signs of infection.
